How to Make the Best Iced Matcha Latte!
There’s something about a smooth and creamy Iced Matcha Latte. And if you’re anything like me, when it’s made right, you’ll want to indulge in it daily.
I was never one who got into drinking coffee, but I’ve always loved a hot or cold brewed tea. I was the young girl with a tea in one hand acting like I could hold a grown-up conversation – so funny. And as I got older, I found out I was pretty sensitive to caffeine. I’m now happy I don’t need it to function or begin my day, but I have come to appreciate a good quality Matcha.

Not too long ago, I was wanting an Iced Matcha from Starbucks way too often. It would be mid day, and I’d ask my husband to run to Starbucks for me at least once a week. He was so sweet to always say “yes” and bring me a delicious treat. But I soon realized I needed to make my own version. An Iced Matcha Latte that I could not only enjoy, but share with lovely ones like you!
This Iced Matcha is full of flavour and packed with healthy antioxidants! It’ll easily become one of your favourite things to enjoy in your mornings.

And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. - Ephesians 3:18-19 NLT

FAQ’s
Can I make this Iced Matcha Latte without a whisk?
Yes! This Matcha Latte can be made with a frother or a spoon!
Does the quality of my Matcha powder matter?
I believe it does. The quality of the matcha will determine how smooth and sweet your latte is. If the matcha is not good quality it will be bitter, chalky and need more extras to hide the taste.
How much caffeine is in 1 tsp (2 grams) of Matcha?
Matcha contains 19–44 mg of caffeine per gram which equals about 38–88 mg per 2-ounces (60-mL) of water. The caffeine amount has to do with the size of matcha powder used and water temperature. Hotter the water, with larger amounts of matcha, will increase the amount of caffeine.
Psst, do you love Sourdough? This Iced Matcha pairs beautifully with my Old Fashioned Sourdough Banana Bread!

How to Make the Best Iced Matcha Latte!
Equipment
- 1 Tall Glass
- Measuring Spoons
- 1 Hand Held Milk Frother
- 1 Heat Resistant Cup
- 1 Kettle
Ingredients
- 1 ½ – 2 teaspoons Matcha high quality, organic
- ½ cup Almond Milk or milk of choice
- ½ – 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup
- 3 tablespoons Hot Water
- ¼ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 cup Ice
- 2-3 tablespoons light Coconut Milk (canned) *optional
Instructions
- Fill glass with ice and set aside.
- Heat water in kettle.
- In your heat resistant cup, add the maple syrup, hot water, matcha, and salt. Mix together with a frother until there are no clumps of matcha and many bubbles have formed.
- Add vanilla and mix with frother one more time.
- Pour almond milk and *coconut milk into the glass of ice. Next, pour the sweetened matcha overtop.
- Add a fun straw. Stir and enjoy!
Notes
- Add the matcha last to get the best mixing. Adding it first will have it stick to the bottom of your cup.
- Depending on the size of your glass, you may want to add more milk.
- Don’t have a frother? Use a spoon to mix and break down the matcha clumps.
- *Adding coconut milk really compliments the matcha flavour, but it’ll be delicious either way.
- Elmhurst Almond Milk is my favourite to use in drinks and baking. It’s made with only two ingredients and has 4x more almonds/protein per glass! In Canada, I buy it from Safeway and Superstore.

Tried this today! So good. I used oat milk, but still added a splash of coconut milk which added a nice creaminess. I most often use vanilla syrup to sweeten, but the maple syrup is really nice too! ❤️ perfect match to milk ratio!
