12 Days of Jesus – Christmas Gift Idea!

Everyone’s heard the “12 Days of Christmas” carol but have you ever used the song as inspiration for a gift? This 12 Days of Jesus gift idea is an excellent way to keep the sense of celebration focused squarely on Jesus throughout the Christmas season!

Last year, I was inspired to come up with 12 unique, Jesus centered gifts that I was excited to give to my husband. The gifts were simple but felt so special. Each day one of these unique gifts pinpointed and honoured the name and character of Christ – he loved it!

Are you looking for a fun, Christian Christmas gift idea?

This 12 Days of Jesus is a perfect way to celebrate the fact that our King has come! Use this idea as a fun method to teach children and grandchildren more about Jesus and His character! It works well for a spouse, close friend – anyone you know who would enjoy receiving gifts centred around our Lord.

How Does it Work?

Each day the 12 Days of Jesus focus on a name or title of Jesus, a scripture where that name is found, and a simple gift that correlates with that name.

I found most of these adorable gifts from Dollarama, Shoppers, or Winners (three popular Canadian stores). You’ll find that some of the gifts are more creative than others. I purchased some blank gift tags from Dollarama… and went to town!

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honour and gave him the name above all other names. – Phil 2:9 NLT

12 Days of Jesus Gift Examples:

Jesus the Living Water

When we drink the Living Water Jesus provides and are born again, He assures us that we will never thirst again. Sparkling cranberry juice, or something similar, can symbolize this living water (as well as the blood of Jesus). Everyone will love it!

Jesus the Word

Jesus is the Word that was made flesh and dwelt among us! Who doesn’t enjoy a crossword puzzle on a snowy, cold winter day?

Jesus the Redeemer

Jesus is our Redeemer who washed away and forgave all our sins! Who doesn’t need more body wash? A nice, fancy, hand soap can be fun too!

Jesus the Prince of Peace

Jesus is the Prince of Peace! He is the only one who can provide peace that surpasses all understanding. These Reese’s Pieces are one of my hubby’s favourites!

How to Give the Gifts?

You can arrange the gifts in any way you choose! However, when I compiled all my secret gifts under the tree, I didn’t want my hubby to know what they were. So I wrote the number that corresponded with the day I was going to give the gift, on the wrapping paper or bag, and made myself a note. For instance, the twelfth gift would be given twelve days before Christmas, and would simply be labeled with the number 12!

Note, you don’t have to do it this way, I did this because I wanted to give specific gifts on specific days (fyi: my favourite was the last one given on Christmas Day)!

When does the 12 Days of Jesus begin?

Gift number twelve – December 14th

Gift number one – December 25th

I wrapped some of the gifts in gift bags, others in wrapping paper, and for a select few I even made my own gift bags out of wrapping paper – so much fun!
